In another world…

While Solas and Elera Lavellan find themselves at odds with each other in this world, the former Inquisitor swearing that if she cannot save Solas then she must save Thedas no matter the personal cost, there might exist a better one. One where Solas learns the value in modern Thedas, in the world he helped create, and accepts all that it is. And in that world, they are happy.

I was so lucky to snag a commission from @needapotion, and the result is absolutely breathtaking. I can’t stop looking at it – from the detail on Elera’s dress to their expressions. It’s gorgeous and I couldn’t be happier. Lowenael was an absolute joy to work with, and I hope I’m lucky enough to work with them again in the future. Thank you so much!!

The pleasure was definitely shared!

I’m happy that you love it, thank you for commissioning me,!

yes but hear me out,

Cullen as a red templar, YEAH SURE OKAY WHATEVER, but consider also: the disgraced former Arishok as commander of the Inquistion forces

that’s all

Here’s Commander Ari, leader of the Inquisitions forces and former Arishok of the Qun. Bull and him don’t have the best of relationships, but they’re working on it.  (disregard my terrible photo editing skills.)

The important thing is: can you romance him? CAN YOU?

@dorianofminrathous

Yes.

Open to all gender and races

You can do some casual flirting at haven, nothing really big. A few phrases and attempts at wooing go over his head as he yells order for his men to stop acting like Qalaba’s and fight with a purpose.

The romance starts with a cut scene of him arguing with Bull about the Qun. He goes on to explain how he was exiled from the Qun for the failure of his duties. You have the option of: agreeing with him that he failed, saying that it was to much pressure on one person, that he wasn’t the same as he was back then, or by blaming him for his past mistakes. However, you respond he takes it under advisement.

You can visit him as he’s meditating. Here you learn that he still walks the path of the Kosslun even if it’s not under the direct Qun. He is still looking for a purpose and completion in the world. You have the option of meditating with him.

There is a war table mission where you learn that there are ben-hassrath agents searching him out via Iron Bull (Only if he becomes a tal-Vashoth). You can confront the Arishok about this at which he will welcome the challenge to show his former brothers and sisters how far he has grown outside their beliefs. Or you can have Leliana or Josephine intercept them with assassins or a dukes guard.

At the Winter Palace, he will be alone by the balcony, all the guests to scared to greet him or only gawk at his appearance. He will state he hates the Game and finds that it lacks purpose and thinks that this is what he hates the most about human culture. How they lack direction, but never lack the distrust of vile they hide behind smiles. It reminds him of Kirkwall. Later you can dance with him on the balcony. (He’s not very good, but he tries)

“Parshaara, you worry for trial matters that have since past. The tide rises, the tide falls, the sea is unchanged. Enjoy the seas now.”

After you decide to stay with him, like a full-fledged relationship. He gives you a token to prove his love. Instead of giving you a dragon tooth, he gives you his sword stating that it is asala, his soul. That he wished you to have all of him. That in finding you, he has found a purpose and completion that the Qun never offered to him.

You can go to the training area and kiss him as much as you’d like. Depending on race, there will be an initial cut scene for the height distance.

In Trespasser, he will state that he knew the Qunari were collecting eluvians, though he had no knowledge of them actually working. He can only predict that they will invade in the years to come. There will be some warning about the dangers the Qun pose on the human society. You have the option to respond to him with: “ You worry for trial matters that have since past. The tide rises, the tide falls, the sea is unchanged. Enjoy the seas now.” He will smile and bring you into a kiss stating that he loves you and that he would be honored for you to marry him. Despite there being no tradition like that among the Qun, he is willing to accept your traditions as his own.

In the wedding ceremony, he will state: “Sataareth kadan hass-toh issala ebasit” ‘It is my purpose to do what I must for those I consider important.’ It’s all cute and everything. He wears (Depending on race) it’s either a stunning red and white robe (Elf), No shirt, but white and red war paint (Qunari), Nutcracker outfit (human), and a deep ‘V’ neck red shirt (Dwarf).

@ninestepsofthor , when the Arishok meets Hawke at Skyhold…..

Shit goes downhill fast.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, tries to keep the two from seeing each other. There’s some banter with the other companions, Cole and Varric in particular, regarding this. As you walk around Skyhold and pass soldiers, you sometimes get snippets of dialogue about how suspicious the Arishok is getting and how they had to distract him:

  • Soldiers dramatically flinging themselves into training practice, falling to the ground asking for their last rites to be given.
  • The Iron Bull stopping him and talking about horn balm for cosmetic effects.
  • The Chargers being utilized to set up a scavenger hunt for his cloak or sword.
  • Josephine trying to teach him to dance as Hawke skirts behind them.
  • One scout had to throw a blanket over top of his head. his horns ripping holes in it.
  • Varric formulating elaborate stories about a novel he’s planning on writing about the Qun; the Arishok would be forced to correct everything.
  • Cole who would make the Arishok forget when he began to suspect a bas with a red streaked nose just slipped by.

(Hawke would so make this a game)

Eventually, though the cat (hawk) would be out of the bag and he finds Hawke near the tavern. There’s a large commotion and the Inquisitors is taken to a cut scene where Hawke is running for their lives in a figure 8 pattern, the disgraced Arishok charging after them swearing in Qunlat. You step in and he stops immediately. Hawke proceeds to hide behind Varric.

The Arishok then tells Hawke he apologizes for charging at them, and that he meant no harm by it (It’s clearly a forced apology) Hawke nods and makes an offhanded comment about it being for old time sake while hitting the Arishok on the shoulder ‘for fun’. Varric laughs and warns Hawke to ‘play nice’.

There’s an extra war table dialogue about Hawke if they’re left in the fade. The Arishok will express his condolences for the basalit-an and asks if there is anything he should do for the family or Varric.

*with tears streaming down my face* you don’t happen to make mods do u bc… omg

-Varric, what is your new series about?
-This one? Ah, I wrote a story about a brave, fearless, dragon-slaying nevarran princess, and her charming and handsome rogue dwarf companion.
-What!? Did you really have to?
-You know me well enough, Seeker, I’d never miss that opportunity.

i’m back with more cassaric goodies ;u; this headcanon of mine is too cute to not illustrate it.
